25/6/5: The shop is finally here! Ruth has been slaving away on building an internet shop selling various items covered in my pictures: mugs, postcards, cards, t-shirts, bags, bumper stickers and many other things besides so severl months now. The fruits of her labour are hosted at www.cafepress.com and it looks pretty good. We have already got ourselves the journals, some postcards and a coaster which really are quite impressive (in my modest opinion). Reasonable price too.

This site is free for us to hold with the cafepress.com people but we are limited to the number of items we can have in the "shop". However, we can have many shops as we like and it is easy to set up so if there is a particular picture you like that you just have to have emblazoned on a pair of pants (say) then email us at the usual place and I am sure we can short it out.

24/6/5: Just back from fantastic holiday in Tanzania. No paintings yet, but the photos of this trip are in the usual place. Surely one of the most photogenic countries I have been to. We had two weeks in Tanzania and visited Kilimanjaro, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti and Tarangire national parks. As can be seen in the photos we saw all the animals you might expect at close quarters and much more besides.

24/4/5: Good news! I have been accepted for the Cambridge Drawing Society membership and have 3 paintings on show at the Guildhall in town from the 23rd-30th April. Strangely, the painting I was most pleased with (and there are very few I am pleased with at all) was rejected from the exhibition. It is the painting of the maple leaves. So if there is anyone out there who does appreciate this one then it is still avaliable.

Also, Ruth has been busy at work with an exciting new initiative related to this website. I can't say any more at the moment (patents pending, trademarks being registered etc) but keep checking over the next few weeks for this revolutionary addition to the site.

20/4/5: Four new oil paintings have recently been added to the "New" section: Prague rooftops, Autum leaves, and two paintings from our time in Scotland last summer of the Cuillin on Skye and also the Callanish standing stones on Lewis. These last two are not finished but I have put then on here to make it look like I have been doing some painting this year. The first two paintings were painted with entering the Cambridge Drawing Society annual exhibition in mind. This society runs several exhibitions a year around Cambridge and seems like a good opportunity to try and sell some of my work which is clogging up the house otherwise.

4/1/5: Happy new year. After a burst of activity over the festive period I have produced 2 new pen and ink drawings of the Cuillin on Skye and my first oil painting for about 10 years. These are all in the New2004 section.

Also, I have been asked to make it clear that Hazel very much likes the portrait I did of her back in 2002 and that it is in a very prominent position in her living room.

20/9/4: Have spent a few weeks up-grading the website. Not sure whether I like the new site jet but I have learnt quite a few thinks in the course of working on it. Tell me what you think before it gets changed again.

19/5/4: It has been quite a while since I made any changes to this site. I have just added a series of photos of Bologna, Italy and Banff National Park, Canada which I went to in February and May, respectively. Both times I got snowed on heavily but only once did I get so burnt I looked like some sort of monster irradiated in a 1950's B-movie. Oh, it's okay- I'm alright now. Sort of.

Have also added a new painting of some stranded boats on Norfolk Beach (near Burnham Overy Straithe) to the New2004 section. This is really a sister painting of the other long picture I did of Norfolk beaches last year. I have been busy with my picture framing over the last few months and one of the more successful attempts is my picture of the London Sykline from the London-Eye-Big-Wheel-Thing.

11/2/4: Added picture of street in Rabat Gozo (see New 2004 section) that is based on a photo we took there in September 2003.

27/1/4: I have undertaken a re-furbishment of the site over the last week. I have deleted many pictures and other stuff to get the size of the site below 10Mb. Some of the pictures are very old so it is best to see the back of them. I am considering changing the black/white/red colour scheme on the basis of my wife's advice though I am quite attatched to these colours as I think it makes the site classy, jazzy and easy to read. Also, it is the White Stripes' colour scheme. They rock.

21/1/4: I have taken up framing over the last few weeks: have started off framing 2 of my recent pictures (see New 2003 section). Also some new pictures in the New 2004 section. Due to a restriction on the size of site here I have started to remove alot of the pictures. As Ihave so much stuff here it is easy to chop bits out. More changes soon.
